When I had my oil furnace tested, I was assuming my repair & repair agreement was going to cover the cost of the service.

Had I known I was going to need to pay for the repair even with the agreement, I would have saved my money & not obtained the repair agreement.

When the Heating & A/C specialist arrived to do the service, I showed him my repair agreement & wanted to make sure the servicing was included. She said it included the repair & tested the oil furnace. When she was getting ready to go home, she brought the report to myself and others & discussed what all she had to do. She then provided myself and others a bill for the parts & labor. I was a bit exasperated & asked if she was sure this was the way the repair agreement worked, because I was under the impression everything was included. Before she left, I called the Heating & A/C company & questioned the cost of the work & parts. The lady who answered the phone told myself and others I was only responsible for the cost of the parts. The repair repair & work while in the repair was free. They asked to speak to the Heating & A/C specialist & must have told him how the agreement works, because she hung up & apologized, then provided myself and others a modern bill with work marked as no charge. I thought long & difficult before I obtained the repair agreement for my Heating & A/C system, because the price was a bit more than I expected, but I saved more than I spent on just the first visit.

Both of us had to fly lake home because of an emergency.

My fiance & I had been planning this getaway for the last many years & were excited to have the day arrive. Both of us had our plane tickets in hand & boarded the airplane. It was awful enough that the air quality in the airplane was poor, however that was soon to be the highlight of our getaway. Both of us got to the all-inclusive resort & found out they were under a hurricane warning & there was no power, and everyone was staying in the main hotel, & many people were sleeping in the gym section away from the glass. Once the storm passed, our phones were back on, & they were blown up with missed messages & texts. Both of us thought it was family & friends upset about us being caught in the hurricane & checking to make sure every one of us were okay. That was not the case. Our oil furnace had broken, & the pipes were broken. There was water throughout the house, & every one of us were told to either tell the family how to handle the situation, or come home. Both of us weren’t having fun, so every one of us boarded a plane & headed home. The oil furnace needed replaced, & every one of us had to call a contractor to have the home repaired. Both of us had recently had the oil furnace tested, & they hadn’t said there was a problem that could cause it to split while every one of us were on getaway, & every one of us planned on telling the Heating & A/C company they owed us a modern oil furnace, however luckily, the homeowner’s insurance covered all the disfigure, including the modern oil furnace.

Heating & A/C websites shouldn’t be this difficult to navigate.

I was going through the website our Heating & A/C company recently put up.

I wanted to make an appointment for oil furnace repair & every one of us got a flyer saying every one of us could now make all appointments online.

I was trying to make an appointment, however when I pressed the button, nothing happened. There wasn’t a single fasten that worked, so I called the Heating & A/C business. I told her the website wasn’t working properly & how I tried to make an appointment to have the oil furnace tested. The fasten to make an appointment didn’t work. She said it had worked when they made the website live & asked if I wanted to make an appointment with her.I was exasperated & nearly told her I wouldn’t have called if I didn’t want to make an appointment. I wouldn’t have wasted time on the laptop if I didn’t want an Heating & A/C appointment. Instead of getting exasperated with her, I simply told her yeah, please, & waited for her to give myself and others an appointment. She said that as soon as the website was working properly, I should check it out. I wondered if they were going to send notification to their patrons when the website was working properly, but I didn’t want to hang on much longer. I wanted my appointment & to get off the phone. She thanked myself and others for letting them think the website wasn’t working & promised they would make corrections. She provided myself and others an appointment, & I was quick to say thank you & goodbye. My oil furnace was getting tested, & I wasn’t about to use their website again. They aren’t supposed to be so difficult to navigate.

I could not deal with the humidity.

Because of the oil furnace, our home is dry in the winter.

The heat takes all the humidity out of the air, & my skin cracks from the dry air & gets sore.

My fiance constantly puts humidifiers in the home to keep the humidity higher, however this year, it wasn’t necessary. Both of us had a humidifier installed in the oil furnace, however it was working too well. The humidity was up to fifty percent & every one of us seldom had it about thirty-more than four percent. It was so humid in the home that I could not sleep. Had it been summer, the air conditioner would have taken the humidity out, however the oil furnace was adding it in. My fiance told myself and others to call the Heating & A/C company & see how every one of us could reset the humidifier in the oil furnace & lower the amount of humidity it put out… When I talked to the Heating & A/C business, they made it sound love it was a easy process, but I wasn’t sure it was. I got out the repair manual to see how the humidifier worked, & it said the Heating & A/C specialist should set the humidity level. I called the Heating & A/C company again, however they insisted every one of us could change the amount of humidity that was going into the air. I asked them to show myself and others where that is in the manual, & she said she didn’t have the manual. I told her I had the humidifier manual, & it reads that an Heating & A/C specialist should make any adjustments. She provided myself and others an appointment the following day, & I said thank you..

She told myself and others I had to lock up my pets & cats.

When I called to make an appointment with the Heating & A/C company for oil furnace service, the first thing they said was to lock up my pets & cats.

As soon as the Heating & A/C specialist told myself and others she was on the way, I put my pets & cats in the kitchen & locked the door so they could not get out.

My Peppy was an escape artist & if the door wasn’t locked, she turned the knob & got out. Once the Heating & A/C specialist arrived & showed myself and others her Heating & A/C ID badge, I showed him to the oil furnace room. It wasn’t until I heard him scream that I remembered Freddy liked it in the oil furnace room, but freddy was a Burmese Python, & she loved the extra heat that was in the oil furnace room, & she kept the rodent population at bay. I ran to the oil furnace room & Freddy was wrapped around the man’s legs. I unwound him & put him in the cage, then locked the lid down so she could not escape. The poor Heating & A/C specialist looked devastated. She could not stop shaking & she kept asking if it was a real snake? I tried to apologize & said the Heating & A/C call center told myself and others to lock up my pets & cats, however they said nothing about snakes. She said she wasn’t afraid of snakes, but she didn’t expect to see 1 kneeling on top of the oil furnace, to be so big, or to wrap around her legs. I told him Freddy must have liked him because she seldom showed himself around stranger, however that didn’t make the Heating & A/C specialist suppose any more comfortable.

My fiance & I helped my sister-in-law go to Heating & A/C university.

She needed the tuition & she could not afford it, and my fiance asked if she had talked to their Dad & dad, & she said she hated to ask; They were constantly complaining about money, & if she were to ask them, they would go ballistic & lecture him on becoming more responsible.

My fiance & I talked about it, & every one of us helped him out. Both of us thought that if every one of us helped him, she may help us in return by working on our Heating & A/C system when every one of us needed it. Two years later, my sister-in-law was working in a local Heating & A/C company & doing well. She was planning on getting married & setting up a fantastic life for himself. Two weeks ago, my fiance called & told him every one of us needed some labor done on our oil furnace. She promised she would be there after work, however if I needed help sooner, I should call the Heating & A/C business. They would put us on a labor order & she would grab it up. My fiance didn’t think too much about it at first, however the longer she thought, the more exasperated she became. She came into the kitchen & told myself and others her sister was planning on charging us for the oil furnace repair. I asked how she knew & she said she was told to call the Heating & A/C company & have a labor order created. All I could do was laugh, because this is what every one of us thought was going to happen, even if my fiance seemed surprised.

Talk to my mom, then it’s her oil furnace.

I wasn’t sure why, however Last week the Heating & A/C company called & provided myself and others a date for an appointment to have a minor repair made to my oil furnace.

  • I was sure they had called the wrong number, because I hadn’t called them for a repair; She explained she had been there a week ago, & they were to call when the section came in, something clicked, & I remembered my Dad had told myself and others she had the Heating & A/C company at the home last week.

I told him I thought she had called the wrong number. It was my Dad who had the labor done, & not me. She said this was the number she had given him & apologized. I provided him mom’s number & told him to talk to her since it’s her oil furnace, & she didn’t live with me. She apologized again & thanked myself and others for the number, then hung up. I called Dad an minute later & asked if the Heating & A/C specialist called. I explained how she had called me, & she said she knew. She provided the Heating & A/C company my number in case there was an emergency, then one of her friends recently died when the oil furnace broke & carbon monoxide leaked into the air. She wanted to make sure that if they could not get her when this section broke, they could call myself and others to do a wellness check… Apparently, they thought she had dementia or Alzheimer’s because they called myself and others right away, and both Dad & I laughed, however at least she was getting her oil furnace repaired. I would hate if anything happened to Dad love what happened to her friend.

There wasn’t enough equity in my house.

When my wife and I bought our new home, we knew we were going to need a new HVAC system and thought we had borrowed enough to have it installed.

Unfortunately, there were more charges in the closing than we had expected.

Instead of having money for the new HVAC system, all the extra money went into the closing costs. We were now left wondering where we were going to get the money, and how we could afford it. Because it was a new house, we had no equity, and we had to use all of our savings for the down-payment. We talked about using credit cards, but none of them had a high enough balance to sustain the cost of the HVAC system. We then considered going for a loan, but the bank we worked with would not give us a second loan when we barely got the mortgage. We called the HVAC company to get a quote for the new HVAC system and then we started putting our heads together. We knew we would soon need a heating system, and there had to be a way to purchase it. When my brother called and asked when the new HVAC system was being installed, I told him the story about not being able to afford it, and why. He asked if we had talked to the HVAC company. When he bought his, they had given him a two-year, same-as-cash payment plan. He was sure that if they would do it for him, they would probably do it for us. We figured the worse that could happen was say no, and we wouldn’t be any worse off than we were now.

I couldn't believe I needed a new furnace.

I was furiously looking for the paperwork that came with my furnace.

I wanted to know when I bought it.

I had my annual inspection two weeks previously and the HVAC technician told me I needed a new furnace. I thought I had bought it less than ten years ago. They said the furnace would last fifteen to twenty years, and it was already in a condition that it needed to be replaced. I was aware my warranty had lapsed long ago, but I had kept a maintenance and repair plan since I bought the furnace. I called the HVAC company and asked them if they had a date when th‌ey installed my furnace? The receptionist said she would go through the archived files and call me back. In the meantime, I was looking for the paperwork. I found a small cupboard in the furnace room and knew I would find all the paperwork there. It was the same cupboard where we kept the extra air filters. I sat down and put my head in my hands and groaned. It was fifteen years and two weeks since I had purchased the furnace/ I was hoping the HVAC technician was wrong about needing to replace the furnace, but it was in that time period when replacement could be necessary. I called the HVAC company and told them I had found my paperwork and asked when we could discuss the new furnace. It took a lot of work to convince myself that I wasn’t just wrong, but I also had to buy a furnace, so I was glad the HVAC technician wouldn’t be there for a week.

I was finding moisture on my walls during the summer and cold pockets during the winter. My HVAC system was brand new, and I couldn’t understand why I was having these problems. The warranty on my new HVAC system was about to expire, and I wanted to have the HVAC company do an inspection to see why I was having these problems. When the HVAC technician arrived, he did a thorough inspection and said the problem had nothing to do with the air conditioning and furnace, but it appeared to be an airflow problem. He looked at all the air vents and pointed a light into the air ducts. He looked through the ductwork to see if he could find any problems. He said the ductwork work was in dire need of a good cleaning, but he saw no other problems. He said he could put small fans in the ductwork that would help to push the heating into the cold spots and better dehumidification into the house. He assured me this should work, but he also told me that since I already had a warranty and was having regular inspections done, my warranty was good for another year. If I had more problems of this type, they would look to see if there were other customers having this problem. A week later, they called and said they had set up the ductwork cleaning. They then said they had a recall on the AC unit because of dehumidifier issues, and would deliver a new one as soon as they came in.
