I don’t mind getting beat by 14 year olds because I was doing the same when I was 14 against the old timers like I am now
We had a big crowd watching a heated game last night and it was so fun. It reminded me of the old days playing ball in Cali by the main pier, where sometimes we’d have 200 people watching. Well, last night we had the skyball serves flying high, which really drew the crowds with the nine story high ball flying through the air. I’ve been playing for 41 years and can still hang with the big boys, although two 14 year old boys beat us last night. These two kids are amazing and put us old guys to shame. heating up the sport with some new blood, the young gunners beat me and my HVAC tech partner 21 to 13, which is considered a spanking in beach volleyball terms. We just couldn’t get our offense going as my partner ripped about five or six of my good sets out while nobody was up blocking. The local business did great though because a lot of those people watching went over to hang out and drink a beer in their air conditioned bar in the sand. I don’t mind getting beat by 14 year olds because I was doing the same when I was 14 against the old timers like I am now. My HVAC rep partner didn’t like it so much though, spending the rest of the night drowning his sorrows at the local business with all the others who watched us play. Anyway, today I am rather sore from all the games last night but it was well worth the pain!
