My Grandmother was an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman.

When my great-Grandmother died, I didn’t know truly much about her. She spent the last ten years of her life in a senior living center. She used a walker and was going blind. Mom told me she had dementia, however she seemed sharp as a tack whenever I got to talk to her. She remembered me as a little girl, however she remembered me. I was asking questions about Grandma, because she never talked about herself. My Grandmother came into the room. She had heard us discussing great-Grandma and came out with a bunch of pictures. Every picture showed my great- Grandma in some kind of uniform. I asked Grandma why she never wore a dress. She said her mother worked every day of her life until she had her stroke! Great-Grandma had worked in her father’s Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor since she was fourteen years old. She was one of the first female Heating, Ventilation, and A/C servicemans to ever put on a uniform. Great-Grandma died when she was ninety-six years old, however she was still working when she was seventy-five. I asked her what Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor she worked for? Grandma told me she had her own Heating, Ventilation, and A/C dealer. When great-Grandpa died, she kept the business growing. It was now owned by her Grandma’s sister. I wanted to know why Grandma wasn’t an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman when so multiple women in her family were. She shook her head and laughed, and so did mom. Grandma told me she was an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman, however she liked being a mother better than being an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman. I was blissful I had that chat with Grandma, because now I could labor so I could own the family Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor someday.
