Running an HVAC business can be rough.
Thankfully I have my twin brother John running it with me.
Having two brothers that are both HVAC technicians taking care of business is amazing. I mean that’s how I would sound if I didn’t feel like I had to do the majority of the hard work. I’m the one who gets dirty, I’m the one who has to shower after work to go out to dinner and I’m the one that gets bumps and bruises. John does some of the HVAC work but he handles a lot of the customer service aspect of our HVAC company. He’s great at that for sure because I know I had some unfortunate situations that I wish I handled better. John is just great at keeping his emotions in check and our HVAC business wouldn’t thrive if I didn’t have him as my HVAC partner. I’m slightly jealous of John on how easy it looks to remain calm, cool, and collected in some situations where the client or customer is out of line. I don’t really know how he does it. The one unfortunate thing about us is that we argue a lot, and sometimes it happens in front of our customers. It’s not a good look that could be detrimental to our HVAC business. I think that is the only time I see John losing his mind and maybe I’m a big problem with that. I should try to use more open dialogue with him and we should try and be better equipped emotionally in tough times when it comes to repairs. I say we, but in all actuality I mean me.
