I worked at a diner for a long time as a dishwasher and after that I got a promotion to work in the office room.
I worked in the office room for 2 years while I was in school. During my last year of school I was promoted to the assistant manager position. During that time I was able to buy a car. It was a used car with no air conditioning system, but it was mine. I drove that car all over the campus and I took our friends everywhere that we wanted to go. I was the only one with a car and nobody minded riding around in it even if the car did not have an air conditioning system. When I finally got my degree, I started fielding some pretty drastic job offers. I was looking at a starting salary of $65,000 a year or more and I have been earning about $25,000 a year at my old job. Suddenly I had enough money to finally buy a new car. I started looking at new cars after I took a job offer with an accounting firm in the city. I decided to buy a new car before I moved off campus even though it was quite a drive. When I thought about the fact that my car did not have an air conditioning system and I was going to be driving no matter what, I decided that a new car was more important than a new place to live.
