Most realtors would know exactly where to look for the furnace, when they are showing a house or an apartment.
I wasn’t sure if the realtor I had was new, or just other things on hier mind, but she knew nearly nothing about the condominium she was showing to me.
She told me to have a look around, and she took a seat at the bar. The paperwork about the condo was on the bar, and she was reading it. I watched as she looked at the thermostat and then seemed to be looking for something. She stopped and looked at the air vent and then continued her walk. Every time she saw something that had to do with the HVAC system she would stop. I sat on the steps where I had a view of the entire downstairs, and watched her. After ten minutes, my curiosity was piqued. I asked her if there was something wrong with the condo that I should know about. She apologized and told me she couldn’t figure out where the furnace was. She could hear it running. She found all the downstairs air vents, and two thermostats, but she couldn’t find the furnace. I asked if she opened the door in the kitchen. It looked like a pantry door, but it had air vents in the door. I would think you would have a solid door on the pantry. When she opened the door, I could hear her whisper, ‘there you are’, and then she closed the door. She told me there was definitely a furnace in the condo.
