She never gave up despite having to compromise her initial goal of attending medical school after undergraduate college because she couldn’t afford it. That required a lot of guts on her part, especially given the persistent skepticism she received from those who claimed she couldn’t change careers in her early 30s. Everyone faces a risk, but for someone as talented and resilient as my daughter, the journey is much simpler. So when she finally found a wonderful partner to start a family with, I was happy. You worry constantly that your kids won’t make the right choices in life because of their emotional involvement with the wrong people. You believe you have finally lived a good life when your child finds a kind and responsible mate. My new son-in-law also runs his own business.
