My dog loves to lay down by the heating register

Around here, the weather starts to get cold and the temperatures start to drop when we hit September. September and October average temperatures are in the 40s during the day and it gets even colder in November and December. By the middle of January, we often have snow on the ground and ice on the house and the ground. When the weather is cold and frigid outside, my dog loves to lay down by the heating register. I have heating registers located throughout the house. There is a gas furnace in the basement. All of the registers are ducted to the gas furnace. We regularly check the amount of fuel in the furnace so we do not run out in the middle of a cold snap. We have the entire furnace filled When September arrives and we usually have to add more fuel in the middle of january. The furnace in our home works extremely well. As the furnace makes warm air, it is distributed via the heating registers. The area between the registers is warm as well. My dog loves to lay down by the heating register. Sometimes it gets a little too warm and she will move away, but most of the time she will plop down on the register and stay there until the furnace turns off. It’s kind of funny to see my dog behave this way, but I guess it’s the same for humans. If I was cold, I would lay down in front of the heater too and I would not move unless the heat was off or I was uncomfortable.
