The flood victims were all housed in temporary portable buildings

It took weeks and weeks for all of the flood waters to recede.

The hurricane brought a lot of water to the area.

Many coastal homes and businesses were completely flooded and lost. Several people were left homeless after the hurricane. The federal government tried to help out by providing temporary portable buildings to house all of the flood victims. The temporary portable buildings were equipped with heat and ac. They had cots instead of beds and they were very dark and dreary. The temporary portable buildings felt like a steel cage. After the waters receded and people could go back home and assess the damage to their homes, these portable buildings had no more use. The government left them sitting in the parking lot for weeks and weeks. After 3 months, the city hall called the government to find out what they planned to do with these temporary portable buildings. The government liaison told our city planner that we should keep the buildings. Those buildings cost about forty grand each. I looked them up online. He told the guy to find good use for the buildings. It’s nice for them to give us these portable buildings, but we honestly have no place to put them. They were in the way already and then we had to find space to store them. We put the buildings out by the fairgrounds for now. I’m sure we can find something to do with them, but it would have been a lot better if the government would have just come back and picked them up the same way they dropped them off.
