HVAC wasn’t my first choice of careers.

I had gone to college and tried several careers before deciding to be an HVAC technician.

When I first went to college, I was thinking about going to HVAC technical training.

I saw the brochures in the admissions office, and I took them home. I also had brochures for other careers. I was only eighteen, and many things were calling to me. I could choose between going to pre-med, legal classes, and many other things, including being a teacher. I looked at the brochures for HVAC classes, and it didn’t sound as interesting as other careers. Four years in college had me even more confused about my choice of careers in the future. I had to choose a major, and I chose something stupid, even though I had no interest in it. After graduation, mom and dad were eager to hear what I was leaning toward now. I thought about more school, but over the past four years, I kept thinking about those HVAC brochures. I considered my future and getting a degree in HVAC engineering, but I had taken all the wrong classes for that. I attended HVAC technical training, which had my mom upset, but my dad was happy. All he said was that he wished I had chosen HVAC before they had put out all the money for college. I didn’t mean to cost mom and dad a lot of money, but I knew in my heart that I wanted to be an HVAC technician and some of my classes would benefit me. I just wanted to have other options open in case I changed my mind about HVAC.
