My home’s former control unit was an ugly dial 1.
It had a plastic toggle that you wiggled from 60-90 degree range.
The numbers were entirely small and difficult to read. It also was the perfect height for our fiance’s shoulder to bump the toggle. He could not read if he changed the temperature. More often than not, he would. Frequently I would come home to a sweltering house. My fiance would have bumped the control unit up to 80 degrees before toil and not notice. The condo then would have the heating plan on all day without anyone home. I would then arrive at a super heated condo and a high energy bill. It became blatant that the people I was with and I needed a new control unit abruptly. I substituted it with a smart control unit. First I picked it because it was pretty. A smart control unit has a silver surround and a colorful innerface. It looked new, new and matched our decor. Next, I liked that the control unit could have a program. I am someone that is regularly in and out of the house. The control unit does scan for home tenants. If it finds out you aren’t there, the control unit will turn off the Heating and A/C unit. I choose to just do a timed program with it. So while I am inside laboring, I have heating or cooling. I get a break for our lunch and toil out break. It also turns off at 5pm since I am outside. The condo control unit doesn’t turn on our Heating and A/C until I am getting ready for bed. It saves me so much money.
