I constantly keep going back and forth about this. I appreciate the idea of a wood burning fireplace with the aroma of the wood burning as well as the sounds of the crackling wood releasing steam vapors trapped inside. The only thing I don’t appreciate about the wood fireplaces is all of the job it takes to make the fire. You have to chop the wood as well as then haul it in, after that you need to wash all of the ashes from the fireplace once it has burned. I appreciate the idea of a gas fireplace being much cleaner separate from all of the hassle of wood as a fuel. I have a central furnace to heat the home so the fireplace would just be for fun as I appreciate the sight of fire, as long as it isn’t our home that is burning! Speaking of our heating as well as the A/C system, I suppose it is time to check the furnace filter because I haven’t cleaned it in an undoubtedly long time as well as I bet that it is quite dirty at this point. I normally do it every 3 weeks but I took a trip to the US and then I forgot to do it before leaving as well as now it has been about several weeks since cleaning the filter. I would appreciate it if they make a washable HEPA filter for furnaces because I suppose it would do a much better job of cleaning the air of any aromas that the furnace puts out. My furnace is older as well and seems to provide off more smells when it is running.
