I guess you could say I became spoiled when I went to college.
I ended up renting a house.
My parents helped me cover the cost of rent, though I paid half of it and covered all my own bills. They wanted to support me during my college years, and that’s something that I will always remember and be thankful for. Well, the rental house I got was equipped with a fantastic HVAC system. I’m not even lying when I tell you that there were radiant heated floors that were hooked up to a boiler system. Oh man, I had some wild parties at that house and everybody wanted to hang out in the winter because of those radiant heated floors. People would just crash at my house and actually sleep on the floors because it was so comfortable. Not to worry, I always kept those floors vacuumed, swept and mopped, depending on the location of the house. In the summer though, I also was able to use the pleasant cooling system which was a ductless mini split air conditioner. Both HVAC systems were equipped with smart thermostats too, so I was able to connect to them with my phone and adjust the temperature control settings with the app, no matter where I was. That was a very convenient feature. Whenever I would go back to visit with friends and family, I always told them about how amazing my house was and it wasn’t long before they came to visit. It was sad when I left that place, but I ended up buying my own home. I have a basic HVAC system for now, but I want to upgrade to radiant heating floors and a smart thermostat in the near future.
