As I was cleaning my house the other day, I thought I heard a strange sound. I paused my music and listened carefully for another sound. After standing in silence for a few moments, I resumed my music and returned to my cleaning. 30 minutes later, I began to sweat and I could feel my cheeks getting rosey. Initially, I thought that I was cleaning really hard. However, When I walked by the thermostat, I saw that it was reading at a really high temperature! I had set the temperature to 73 degrees, but the actual temperature of my house was 78 degrees. I was concerned that it had something to do with the loud sound that I heard earlier, so I made the decision to call the local HVAC company. I didn’t know the first thing about HVAC systems, and I knew that I wouldn’t be able to find or fix any issues. Calling the HVAC company right away was the best decision I made, because the situation was bad. The HVAC professional who assessed my HVAC system told me that I had broken the compressor. He wasn’t sure what had caused it to break, but he assured me that it would need to be replaced. The condenser unit was over 10 years old, so there was no point in repairing it. Unfortunately, a new condenser unit was going to set me back quite a bit financially, but there was no other option. It didn’t make sense to repair the condenser unit and I desperately needed it to run my AC. Thankfully, I had some money saved up so I could afford to purchase a new condenser unit.
