The second reason was that I felt defeated
I had been trying to get my AC system to work for weeks. It was an old and cranky piece of equipment that I desperately needed to have replaced. However, I was determined to get it up and running efficiently again without having to purchase a new system. I think part of me believed that if I could try something new, the AC unit would begin running effortlessly and efficiently again. During all of this madness, my family was constantly telling me how crazy I was for putting in so much effort and time. My AC unit was old and there was nothing I could do to change that. Once I tried everything in my power to revive my AC unit, I caved in and called the local HVAC company. I told them about how inefficient my utility bills were, how the air was never cool or consistent, and how there was a foul smell coming from most of the air vents. When the HVAC professional arrived, I told him the year of the AC unit and he told me that all the symptoms I was experiencing were most likely signs to replace the AC unit completely. I was devastated to have it replaced for two reasons. The first reason was that it was expensive to install a new AC unit. The second reason was that I felt defeated. I tried everything to save my AC unit, but there was nothing I could do. Once the new AC unit was installed though, the air felt cleaner and my utility bills were drastically lower. All the sadness I was feeling toward my new AC unit had immediately disappeared!
