Renovation problem solved thanks to ductless HVAC

There is no doubt that I should have had a better plan when I decided to take on a household renovation. Actually, what I did was add an additional 600 square feet of space onto our existing structure. I also thought that between myself, my brother and a few friends, it wouldn’t be all that big a deal to complete. Again, I could have planned this a bit better. However, I think I was influenced by sitting on my couch in the HVAC watching these DIY shows on TV. Plus, my brother actually worked construction for years and knew what he was doing. The problem was that we were always dealing with stuff in fits and starts instead of actually following a plan. But eventually, when I saw the HVAC guy coming out to do the pre-winter check up on the HVAC, I knew we had to get after it. So, I took almost a week off from work and my brother took several days. I enlisted several friends over a long weekend and we got the addition dried in and insulated. This was a big relief because we could work at out own pace the rest of the way. However, another snag came with having to have an HVAC unit in order to keep newly plumbed water lines from freezing. My brother and I decided to go with a ductless HVAC unit. It made the most sense and we knew that the addition wasn’t going to be heated and cooled by the main HVAC anyway. That just wouldn’t work. So we went with the ductless HVAC. Plus, it’s nice having heat in there as we worked over the winter.
