The heating contractor who had no clue on how to work a system

I had lived in this house for close to 4 years and I absolutely loved it. It was in a good area with an enviable school district. The neighbors were amazing and friendly and the social facilities were to be desired. The state had a hot and dry temperature and it was crucial to have a heating and cooling system in each and every house. The house was already fitted with a functioning a/c unit 10 years before I moved in and I knew it was quite old. For this reason, I scheduled a much-needed furnace heater tune-up to be performed by an experienced heating contractor from the cooling and heating business. Since the zone controlled HVAC unit was a bit aged, I knew that I had to replace the cooling equipment with new cooling technology. When the new HVAC repairman finally came to check the unit, he fumbled with his tools and after 20 minutes, he advised that I needed to replace the entire system with all the HVAC ducts and the ductwork. This did not feel right as the system was working, it just needed a few repairs. I decided to seek a second opinion which turned out to be a good idea as the technician suggested that I needed to replace the compressor and upgrade to a WiFi thermostat in order to maintain quality heating in the house. He also suggested that we purchase an oil heater and a portable space heater to boost up temperatures. He mentioned that the ductless multi-split unit was better, but I did not need to install it immediately. It really pays to have a certified, trained, and licensed technician who actually knows their job.
