So then I have to explain the basics of heating and cooling to my friends, and since they are my friends, they’ll listen, but I can tell they are bored
If there is something I have learned from being a HVAC specialist, it is that people know very little about how their heating and cooling systems actually work. This always bothers me, because I love to know how everything operates in my home, and I will do hours of research if it means figuring out how all of the parts come together to make everything work. But I guess some people are content to remain blissfully unaware. I have figured this out when I would go to people’s homes and talk to them about the different parts of an air conditioner. 9/10 I would be greeted with blank stares. I would then have to go into detail about how all of the inner parts work, but most of the time I am unable to finish because they look incredibly bored by my speech. Anyways, some of those people are my friends. They’ll ask me the usual about my day, and when I start to go into details about how annoying it is for no one to understand HVAC systems, I am greeted with the same familiar blank stare on their faces. So then I have to explain the basics of heating and cooling to my friends, and since they are my friends, they’ll listen, but I can tell they are bored. I need to find someone who has a passion for HVAC like I do, even my coworkers are grumpy though. Maybe eventually I’ll find someone who will actually show interest in what I am saying, and not looking like they would rather be anywhere else in the world.
