I work for a small construction company here in town.
And the office is inside a warehouse that was retrofitted.
It is also attached to another warehouse that houses the carpentry shop. So, because the office is next to the shop, it is always dusty, and it was hard to keep up with the cleaning. So, after a lot of back and forth, we got approval to hire a commercial cleaning service. The plan was for the office to close early on the day of the cleaning, and we were instructed to remove personal items as well as items that could break during the cleaning process. On the day of our first cleaning, I ended up working late. So, I was there when the commercial cleaning company began the process. Well, after about 2 minutes of cleaning, I heard a huge crash coming from the hallway. Immediately I knew that the cleaning company broke something. I stopped what I was doing to investigate what fell and it turned out it was a model that was sitting on top of a ledge. When the cleaning company attempted to dust off the item, it fell to the ground. Thankfully, it wasn’t fully destroyed, but parts of it were broken off. I felt bad for the people from the commercial cleaning company who were very apologetic for the mishap. To be honest, that was negligence on our part because someone should have removed the model from the ledge prior to the cleaning company coming in. Besides that one mishap, the commercial cleaning company did a great job in removing all the dust inside the office. Now if only we could convince the owners to get a commercial carpet cleaning done as well.
