I consistently liked to go to auctions as well as antique shows with my aunt when I was younger, and it was consistently nice to have something to do on the weekends, and my number one part about these shows was looking at all of the custom built furniture that was for auction.

In some way, it was creepy to look at all of the custom built furniture.

Some of the custom built furniture was fit for dwarfs. I was consistently afraid of dwarfs, as well as my aunt as well as cousins knew this… They would consistently make sure to point out the small furniture that was custom built for dwarfs. The fact that it was small as well as aged entirely freaked me out. I have never quite understood why I was so afraid of dwarfs, however I consistently knew that I was not a fan of them. The small furniture offered me the creeps. I feel this stems from me consistently seeing small people in movies as well as just not liking the look of their miniature selves. I was consistently afraid that one might be sitting in a small, custom built wooden chair in my closet. I remember one of these actions clearly. My aunt told us that there would be a lot of cool custom built train sets at the auction. That was consistently my number one thing. I enjoyed the custom built trains as well as cars, as well as my sibling enjoyed the custom built chairs as well as tables. When we arrived, the first thing I observed was that there were dwarfs everywhere. I instantly asked to leave.

My husband has always been a heavy smoker.

Unfortunately, when he was young, smoking wasn’t frowned upon as much as it it today.

Both of his parents smoked, and Carson took up the terrible habit at the young age of fifteen. Carson has tried numerous times to quit smoking, but each time has ended in failure. About eight weeks ago, Carson was diagnosed with a rare lung disease caused by his heavy smoking habits. This definitely gave both of us a scare. The doctor said that if Carson didn’t stop smoking he would most certainly develop lung cancer within a few years. With this warning in mind, Carson tried harder than ever to quit smoking. Thank God, this time was a success. For the past eight weeks, he hasn’t smoked once, and he is already feeling much better. One thing that I do to help Carson is by making sure that everywhere he needs to go is air conditioned. Because of his lung disease, it is very difficult for him to breathe. It gets even harder for Carson to breathe when it’s hot and stuffy, so I make sure that the house is always cool and that the car is cool before he gets in it. If we are ever invited over to a friend’s house, I make sure that they have the house cool so that it doesn’t bother my husband’s breathing. Air conditioning has made my husband’s life so much easier, and I’m so glad to be able to help in this small way. Hopefully, Carson’s lungs will be able to heal and his breathing will improve, but until then, air conditioning is his best friend.

Moving into a new house can be a great stress reliever. Last year, Frank and I decided we that we really needed to find a bigger house. We had bought our first house when it was just me and him. It had two bedrooms and and one small bathroom. Two kids later, we knew it was time to move. I was getting stressed out on a daily basis because of the cramped living quarters. It took us about six months to find a house that we both loved and that would suit the needs of our growing family. Our new house was recently renovated, and I love the style of it. Even though it was remodeled inside, the outside is still a very old victorian style which gives the house a lot of charm and curb appeal. The house has four bedrooms and two full bathrooms which makes it perfect for our family. As an added bonus, the new house has a huge backyard for the kids and dogs to play. By far, my favorite aspect of our new home is that it has a brand new central cooling system. I love that the cooling system cools the whole house to the same temperature. In our old house, we had small AC units which worked for the room that they were in, but they didn’t really cool anymore than that one room. Furthermore, it was very expensive to run our window AC units, and it never seemed to be very efficient. This new cooling system makes the entire house comfortable, and my family and I couldn’t be more happy.

My husband’s job recently transferred him to a new station half way across the country. At first, the family was pretty sad about having to leave our beautiful home up North and move out West where we didn’t know anyone. But after a few weeks of packing, we all seemed to start to get kind of excited about moving somewhere new. We found a nice house close to my husband’s new job location, and the family grew closer together as we packed and planned out adventures to take as a family in the the new city that we were moving to. The most difficult part for us was leaving our church family and trying to find a new one that would compare to the one that we were leaving. We loved our church. It was a small country church, and everyone seemed to know everyone. Once we moved out West, we visited a couple churches and prayed about which one we should start attending regularly. Eventually, we chose one, and though it is much larger that what we were used to, it is truly a wonderful church. As funny as it may sound, one of my favorite parts about the new church is the temperature that they keep the building at. In our church up North, the auditorium was always so cold. I wore sweaters to church no matter if it was December or July. In our new church, the temperature is so perfect. I never feel too cold or too warm. No more sweaters in July for me. I am so thankfully that the whole family has been able to adjust to our new home and to our new church were the temperature is perfect, and the people are friendly.

He said the furnace was old and needed quite a few parts to get it working.

Vince and I found out last June that we are going to be adding a new member to our family. This is my first pregnancy, so I am quite nervous as most new moms are. I try to do everything that people recommend for me to do. In August, we found out that we were actually having twins. This was a huge surprise for us and totally changed our plans. We were living in a one bedroom apartment at the time, and we knew with twins on the way that we would need to move into a bigger place. Thankfully, we were able to find a small but beautiful house just outside the city we were currently living in. We purchased the house and began working days and nights to fix it up and make it ours. About two weeks before Christmas, we were painting the twins room, and we noticed that it was really chilly in the room. Vince went down to the basement to check the furnace and discovered that it wasn’t on. He tried again and again to get it to turn on, but it just wasn’t working. We called an HVAC technician the next morning, and he was over the following day. He said the furnace was old and needed quite a few parts to get it working. Normally, my husband and I don’t even turn on the heat during the winter. We usually just dress in many layers to stay warm throughout the winter, but now that we had babies on the way, we knew we needed to either fix the furnace or buy a new one. We ended up deciding to purchase a new one so that we wouldn’t have to worry about it breaking on us again.

My husband and his dogs drive me crazy! When Jack and I got married, we only had one dog.

Her name is Lily, and she is a beautiful Siberian husky.

We still have Lily, and ever since then, my husband has added a dog to our family every two years. We currently have seven dogs, and, to be honest, they drive me crazy. Last month, my husband and I went to the mall, and we decided to stop at the pet shop to look for a certain medicine that we couldn’t seem to find anywhere for one of our dogs. Thankfully, we did find the medicine, but my husband also found a dog that, he insisted if I let him buy it, would be our last dog for a while. Of course, I couldn’t say no to him, and we ended up buying a beautiful American Eskimo dog. He is very large with a thick white coat. Because he has such a thick coat, Jack said it would be best if we turned the temperature in the house lower so that Rover doesn’t overheat. This was a hard choice for me because I am the kind of person who is always cold, and I prefer my house to be a bit warmer than most people do. Now that we have Rover, I usually walk around the house in thick pajamas wrapped in a blanket. Having eight dogs in the house is a whole lot of work, and I’m hoping my husband will change his mind about keeping Rover in the house and decide to keep him in the outdoor kennels that we have, so I can raise the thermostat in the house back to a comfortable temperature.

Old houses are amazing, but sometimes I don’t understand them. We recently purchased an older house, and I just can’t get over how beautiful it is. The character and charm that it has makes me so thankful that we decided to go with an older home instead of a new more modern one. The house has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a door leading out to a beautiful balcony. Although the kitchen needs some work, it has an old charm that I just can’t get over. I only major downfall for us is that there is no AC in the bedroom that we are currently staying in while we repair the master sweet. We would have simply bought a window unit if only the bedroom had a window! Who makes a room without a window? I don’t understand why; all I know is that the bedroom gets uncomfortably warm and stuffy, and there’s no way to cool it down. We will definitely have to install a window in the room before we move the kids into the house. The only way that we have been able to sleep at night is by having a dehumidifier running and two fans to keep the room from getting really stuffy and sticky. This method may get us by, but it’s certainly not something we want to have to continue doing. The only good that about the whole situation is that sleeping in such a hot stuffy room motivates us to work harder and faster on the master bedroom. Hopefully, we will have it all done within the next couple of weeks.

Gardening and landscaping is my forte.

To me, there is nothing like a beautiful landscape filled with all sorts of different flowers and plants.

I truly believe that any building, no matter how old or used, can be turned in to an eye catching sight if the landscaping is done properly. This is where I come in; I work hard to make people’s house and businesses stand out with beautiful landscaping. Oftentimes, I am outside in the blazing sun for eight hours a day. The only time I am relieved from this heat, while at work, is during lunch break. I take an hour lunch break from twelve o’clock to one o’clock no matter where I’m working or who I’m working for. I find a local restaurant and rest in a nice air conditioned place while I eat. I have never had any trouble with any of the restaurants that I have been to with one exception. They are usually nice and cool and the staff is friendly. However last week, I went to a local diner and sat down to eat. I order and then noticed that the temperature was rising. It was getting warmer and warmer. I asked my waiter if he could turn the AC up, he said that he was not able to and walked away. It kept getting hotter, and by the time my food got to me, it was so hot that I was sweating, and I had lost my appetite. I asked to take it to go, and I ended up driving a local grocery store and sitting on a bench inside to each my lunch. I hope this kind of thing never happens again, so that I can get a break from the heat during my long days at work.
