All I could do was wait out the blizzard and hope the electricity and heating would come on before our pipes began to freeze or I became a popsicle
I have a total electric house. My heating is electric, our air conditioning is electric and all our appliances are electric. I think the last couple items are a bit redundant when it comes to being electric, however I’m aggravated. The electricity went out in our house last week, while I was in a blizzard. As I said, separate from electricity, I didn’t have any heat. I sighed, aggravated about the lack of electricity, however then the two of us remembered I had a fireplace. I brought in wood and put it on the hearth. I had everything all set up before I opened the flue. I wanted to make sure the fire lit quickly. I went to light the fire and I realized I had an electric starter. The fireplace, which I had never tried to use, was absolutely an electric insert. Looked around the house, searching for every blanket I could find. I had to figure out how to stay warm until the power came back on. I called the local hotel to see if they had power. It seemed love every arena in neighborhood was separate from electricity and there wasn’t any heat. I couldn’t travel too far in a blizzard, so I couldn’t even drive to our mom’s house. All I could do was wait out the blizzard and hope the electricity and heating would come on before our pipes began to freeze or I became a popsicle. I could only hope that neither of these things happened. I kept praying the power would come back on and so would our oil furnace.
