I wasn't going to hang out at the bar without AC

I agreed to wait, hoping that the AC problem would be fixed before long

My buddies and I were supposed to watch the baseball game at the bar on Tuesday night. I finished work 2 hours early, so I wouldn’t miss the first inning. My favorite pitcher was starting and I didn’t want to miss him play. My friend Chad arrived at the bar first. He texted me to say that the AC wasn’t working. I hoped the problem would be fixed by the time I arrived twenty minutes later. Unfortunately, the AC still wasn’t working and the indoor atmosphere was very warm and uncomfortable. Two of my other friends arrived shortly after me. Every one of us agreed that it wasn’t going to be fun to hang out at the bar if the AC wasn’t working. Even though the place has a bunch of jumbo screens and lots of good food, it wasn’t going to be as nice as sitting at my house if the AC wasn’t working. I told Chad that I was going to leave, but he tried to convince me to stay. He promised to keep a cold beer in my hand at all times if I waited an hour. I agreed to wait, hoping that the AC problem would be fixed before long. Halfway through the second inning, the bar was full of people and the AC was barely keeping up with the humidity. I tried my best to stay and hang out with my friends, but I decided to leave and go back to my apartment. My television is half as big, but my AC unit works twice as well.
