I kept thinking about the last time I had to go to this city.
I couldn’t get into my normal hotel and I had to go to a different one.
I had a suite that had the worst HVAC system I had ever experienced. I was so grateful to only need to stay there one night. I couldn’t believe a hotel that charged that much per night, would have such horrible customer service and HVAC. Now, I had to return to this same area, but I was to be there for three nights. I called my regular hotel chain, but I was once again told they had no vacancy. I was upset and a little bit angry. I told them I had a standing suite, and he told me that I needed to check in at least two weeks ahead of time. I had only missed the two week deadline by two days. I tried to reason with him and asked about a smaller room. All I needed was a bed, a table with a chair, and good air conditioning. He hesitated a bit too long for comfort. I could just see the same thing happening again and I would end up in the hotel that had the worst HVAC. The clerk came back on the phone and apologized for the delay. He said he would let me have the Presidential suite for our normal rate. I couldn’t believe I was going to have the biggest suite in the hotel. This worked out perfectly. I could hold my meetings in my room, and have perfect air conditioning and comfort.
