I was protecting my puppy.

I had recently adopted a new puppy.

He was so tiny, that I was afraid to turn down the thermostat when I went to work.

I didn’t want that poor baby to freeze to death while I was gone. My boyfriend was upset that I left the thermostat set at seventy-five when I left. He told me it should be turned down to sixty at the highest, when no one was home. He had been taken from his mommy and had no one there to keep him warm. He had to have the warmth of the heat to keep him safe. He told me to get a heating pad and put it in the puppy box we got him, but I didn’t want him to get electrocuted if something happened to the heating pad. I agreed to turn the thermostat down to seventy, but I wanted to keep our puppy as warm as possible. I put a blanket in one corner of the puppy box and pushed it as close to the air vent as possible. I thought that if our puppy got too cold, he would curl up on the blanket that would have the heat of the air vent in it. Not my puppy. When I got home, he was curled up in the corner that was furthest from the air vent. He pulled the blanket over and he was laying on top of it, but I think it was because it protected his little body from the wires on the bottom. My boyfriend laughed and said he must not have liked all the heat. He told me to turn the thermostat down in the morning.
