I carry my work out gear with me when I switch between two homes

About five years ago, my husband and I invested in a second home down south.

Our plan was to enjoy the most advantageous weather in each of location and skip the worst.

We spend the months from September to May in our southern home and avoid the sub zero temperatures, horrible wind chill and tons of snow up north. We transfer up north just in time to miss the excessive heat and humidity down south. This arrangements has worked out perfectly for us. However, there are some difficulties to keeping up with two separate homes. There is a lot of essential maintenance, and we stress over things such as water leaks, break-ins and pest problems when each home is left empty. There’s also the hassle of requiring duplicates of certain things. It took us some time to create two independent households. I had to buy a second set of sheets, towels, kitchen accessories, wheelbarrow, ladder and all sorts of everyday essential. I also got tired of moving my shoes, clothes, toiletries and cosmetics every time I switched from one house to the other. There are still a few things I insist on carrying back and forth with me. I like to have my personal workout gear with me. I’ve invested in a second yoga mat and a set of hand weights that I leave at each location. Every time I travel, I pack my workout sneakers, wireless speaker and jump rope in my bag. I never leave either home without those items. I’ve thought about buying duplicates of those items, but each one is expensive. I have spent quite a bit of money on a special jump rope system that includes weighted handles. This system costs a lot more than a standard jump rope. My Bose speaker is compace, lightweight and waterproof. It’s easy to carry with me. I should buy another pair of sneakers to have them at each house.
