Changing my lifestyle to get healthy

When I began organizing my wedding, one of the priorities was finding the perfect wedding dress.

I was so eager to go shopping and try on styles of dresses.

I found one I really wanted to try on right away. I then stepped up on the pedestal and checked out my appearance in the full-length mirror. I was not pleased with the image staring back at me. The style of the dress wasn’t the issue. The cut, length and fit of the dress made no difference. I was unhappy about the shape of my body. It was obvious that I’d put on weight and gotten horribly soft. At one time, I was conscientious about my level of physical fitness. My morning workout was a priority. I spent at least an hour to various types of rigorous exercise. I made a point to get sweaty, out of breath and elevate my heart rate. I sometimes ran for ten miles and felt wonderful at the end of it. I often rode my bicycle to manage errands. I used to swim laps early in the morning prior to driving to work. The responsibilites of my job eventually became my focus. I started devoting more time at the office and neglecting proper care of my health. Crawling out of bed extra early to get a headstart on work and staying late to finish up left no time for a workout. Facing the consequences in the mirror made me realize that it was time to reorganize my schedule. I wasn’t willing to live with the stress and exhaustion any longer. I became determined to feel better about myself. I wanted to look and feel my best at my wedding. Living a healthier, more balanced lifestyle was my goal. I made immediate changes to my diet, eliminating fast foods, processed foods and saturated fats. I quit snacked and cut down to a single cup of coffee in the afternoon. I set my alarm an hour earlier for the sake of a workout prior to heading to work. I’ve seen that I enjoy more energy throughout the day and am more productive. I have lost the estra weight, toned my muscles and improve my entire outlook.
