I warned them to stop immediately or I was going to contact the sheriff
Every month for the past three, the electric bill has gotten higher. 3 months ago, it was 30% less than it was this month. At first, I thought there was an if you with the HVAC system. The HVAC equipment is old and inefficient. I had a routine appointment to maintain the system and the technician said that it was very clean and running efficiently. That was a huge surprise. I asked the technician if there was something else that would make the electric bill continue to rise and he told me to contact an electrician to check the meter. I didn’t think it was possible for someone to break into the meter, but apparently someone was stealing from my electricity. The electrical contractor checked the box and found out that it was twice as fast as it should have been with all of the items in my home plugged in. After following the lines, the electrical contractor realized that the next door neighbor was using my electricity for their hot tub. The electrician gave me information about the problem, but he could not get in the middle of the dispute. He suggested I contact the police if the neighbors didn’t stop stealing electricity from my pole. I talked to the neighbors and advised them that I knew they were using my electricity. I warned them to stop immediately or I was going to contact the sheriff. Hopefully the electric bills will be less next month. Now that I know where the problem is coming from, I can easily call the law if it happens again.
