Last year at the Halloween party I made a new friend.
Cisco was at the party with his wife and daughter, and I liked him right away because he seemed like a great dad. He was drinking and partying like the rest of us, but his eye was always on his kid. As a father myself, I have a tremendous amount of respect for a good day. Not just a dad, but a good one! Cisco and I hit it off, and started chatting about horror movies for the rest of the night. A few days later I learned from a mutual friend that Cisco was a professional HVAC technician, which really caught my attention. My heating system at home had been on the fritz for a little while, and simply didn’t have the money to get it fixed. I reached out to Cisco and said that I did want to hang out with him again, but I also wanted his professional advice on my heater. If I was going to pay a professional to look at it, I might as well give that money to an HVAC expert who I liked. Plus, I knew he could use that extra HVAC money to do something special for his kid. Long story short, Cisco did come over to hang out, and he fixed my heater in about ten minutes. He refused to take money at first, but I forced him to take a few bucks. I am so stoked to have a new friend, and to have an HVAC expert who works cheap.
