It isn’t too often that I worry about humidity when the weather gets cold, and humidity is something that happens when it is tepid and humid outside; however, we often have heat and humidity to deal with, and the air conditioning system component deals with it.
What do you do when you have a central humidifier on the gas furnace, and the humidity is already high; and I didn’t know if I could turn the humidifier off, or if I should turn on all the fans and draw the humidity out.
I ended up calling the heating, ventilation as well as A/C supplier and asked them to look at my central gas furnace. When the heating, ventilation as well as A/C professional arrived, I told him what my problem was. I didn’t know how or even if I could switch the humidifier off. He told me the humidifier in the gas furnace would turn off once my humidity levels reached a particular level. He didn’t know it was too wet and humid in the house, but he could turn down the humidity studying so it shuts down more rapidly. If he had actually done this, my skin may get dry and I could end up with a lot of static electricity in the house. I didn’t want dry skin or static electricity, so I told him to leave the humidifier where it was. He said I could turn on a space oil furnace in the room that is affected the most, but the added heat of the space oil furnace could possibly dry all of the air out. I thanked him for the information and went in search of my emergency space heater; but once I had it in the back room, I turned the space oil furnace on, and I saw a difference in the humidity.
