I had recently had a custom paint job done on my car, and I didn’t want the paint to become damaged.
I talked to the man at the auto customization shop and asked if they had paint protection film.
I had read about paint protection film, and I thought it would be a great way to keep the paint from peeling, being damaged by bugs hitting the cars, rocks coming up off the road, or from people touching my car. The man who did the paint job asked if I wanted the paint protection film put on the car. I wanted to get snarky and tell him no, and I just wanted to know if they carried it, but I bit my tongue. I told him that if they had paint protection film, I would like to have it put on the car. He asked me many questions about the type of paint protection film I wanted and then he told me the price. I had a nice car, but to pay up to $10,000 to have the paint protection film installed was outrageous. I wanted to know if they had anything like paint protection film that would cost less. He told me about a ceramic coating I could put on my car that probably cost less than $100 and I could do it myself. He said it didn’t do everything the paint protection film would do, but my car should look like new for up to 2 or 3 years depended on how well I took care of my car.
