I’ve spoken to a lot of HVAC professionals who have said that they don’t make certain systems like they used to, like boiler systems that last up to 50 years. Well, this new HVAC professional I was working with told me that a lot of modern HVAC systems actually have high merit. He talked to me about smart boiler systems that not only could handle the hot water supply to the house, but provide the perfect amount of energy efficient heating. He also explained that these systems last long as well with quality materials such as cast iron. He said some of the systems would even come with a 25 year warranty, because they were built to last. I have to say that I appreciate seeing quality workmanship going into new HVAC systems, because that’s ultimately what you want for your home. I ended up getting one of these new smart boiler systems, and I’m really happy with my investment. My last boiler system actually lasted a long time, I believe it is over 40 years of age, but I wasn’t too pleased about the lack of energy efficiency. Even though it was built to last and I appreciated the comfort it brought for our home, it started to experience problems and we just needed something with ideal energy efficiency. With this new boiler, it has been working great so far. Also, after seeing the first heating bill, I was in shock with how low the bill was! I hope I can continue to see such low heating bills through the rest of the winter season.
