I work as a construction worker for a large company.

I have been with this same company for about ten years now so I have been able to make a life for myself.

I really love my job because I didn’t have the easiest time growing up. I had to take care of my mom because she was very sick so I didn’t go to college and I was worried that because I didn’t get to go to school that I wouldn’t be able to provide a nice life for my future family. However, since I got this job my life has changed but there is one thing about this job that I truly hate more than anything and that is working in the hot sun all day. I have been working in the hot sun for over ten years now and I am over it! I’ve asked my boss if there is a way for me to work in the office more often and in the air conditioning. I want to work in the air conditioning because I know that’s where the important people work. I know that saying important people work in the air conditioning is silly but I think it’s true. Think about most CEOs, they are not out in the field sweating all day, they are in their air conditioned offices. I want to move up the ladder at work and I think by doing this, it’s the best way to grow. Now I just need to talk with my boss.

Every person has her favorite room in the house.

My mom‘s favorite room was the kitchen and my dad loves to sit in his office. However, my favorite room in our house is the sunroom. I love sitting in the sunroom and basking in the sun while watching TV. My mom thinks I’m crazy because the sunroom gets so hot but I never like to turn on the air conditioner in that room. I like to just sit in the room and soak up the heat, even though I know that’s all the same people. I really like to feel the warm air on my skin because it relaxes me so much. Feeling the sun on my skin also relaxes me just as much. When I grow up I wanna have my own sunroom in my house but my mom told me that I’m not going to like how much it costs to cool down a sunroom. I told my mom she had nothing to worry about because I don’t like to turn on the air-conditioning in the Sunroom either way. Even if I did have my own sunroom I would install an air conditioning unit in the room because I find them to be pointless. I would rather have the nice warm air on my skin and not have to worry about cooling down the room at all. She said my family may not agree with me on this issue in the future though.

I work for a local heating and cooling company and we have been doing so many house calls this past month I think I’m going to go crazy.

• I’ve had at least forty hours of overtime each week with the amount of house calls that I’ve had to do.

I don’t typically mind doing house calls because I think they are a nice way to break up the day and you are able to get out of the house and meet new people. However sometimes the homes that you go into our rather sad and it makes you a little depressed once you leave. I recently had this happen to me when I went on an HVAC house call for an old couple. The elderly couple hadn’t had their home cleaned in what seems like months and I was sad upon walking in. I knew they would not be able to afford the heating and cooling repairs that they needed and it made me sad. I wanted to be able to help these people out by offering them my services for free, but I knew my manager would not be okay with that. He also never likes to give things away for free even to the people that really need them and deserve them. I have a feeling this elderly couple really could use the help, but I just can’t offer my help without losing my job. I don’t want to lose my job because then I would end up like this elderly couple and not be able to afford heating and cooling repairs in my own home.

All I have to say is that after this month if I don’t divorce my wife she is a lucky woman. I want to start off this by saying that I love my wife and we have a wonderful marriage and wonderful children, but she is really starting to drive me crazy. My wife thinks that she doesn’t need to call professionals to work on our home because she should be able to fix any issue we have by herself. Well that is a noble thing to think, it is just not correct. My wife has broken too many things around the house for me to believe her anymore. Now she is taking it upon herself to repair our heating and cooling system. I walked into the house last week and noticed there were parts and pieces of the HVAC system all around the house. I tried to not immediately start yelling at my wife because I know her heart was in a good place, but if I have to pay more money for An HVAC company to come out to my house and fix the issues that my wife calls because she was too lazy to call the HVAC company in the first place I am going to be extremely upset. My wife does not know all of the pressure she puts on me to fix things after he has ruined them. This HVAC disaster is going to drive me off a cliff.

I grew up in a very big town and we did not have a lot of money.

I grew up working on my family’s farm and I didn’t mind it at the time.

I actually really enjoyed waking up every morning and feeding the chickens and birds. However, as I have gotten older I have started to resent the old life I used to live. The heating and cooling system in my house growing up was nonexistent. We had a fireplace where my mom would like fires if the temperature outside got too cold but we had no type of cooling system in the house. Even though we didn’t live in the southern part of the country that didn’t mean it didn’t get warm inside the house. We did not have one single fan in the house and not to mention we did not have a cooling system. Those kinds of things were for people that had real money and that is something we did not have. I don’t blame my family because I know they tried to give us the best life possible, but it is annoying that I had to live this way when I know other people did not. I wish I was able to live a life like my friends and have a wonderful heating and cooling system in their home, but that was not the case.

My wife loves to work on cars.

She grew up working on cars with her father and I think it’s a great way for them to bond.

I also have loved over the years watching my wife teach our son about cars too. I find it funny that it’s my wife‘s main interest working on cars when I have an old beat up car, but I guess that’s an argument for a different day. Because my wife likes to work on cars so much I thought it might be fun for me to surprise her and get an air conditioning system installed in our garage. My wife spends every waking second she has in the garage working on cars, so it might be nice if we had an air conditioning system in there and she wasn’t always working up a sweat. She will come inside and be drenched in sweat but she’s never asked me once if you could have an air conditioning system Installed in the garage. Maybe she’s just never thought about installing an air conditioning system in the garage before, but I think it could be a great idea. I’m going to surprise my wife with the air conditioning system in the garage for her birthday and I can’t wait. I’ve called the local HVAC company and they gave me a quote to install the air conditioning system in the garage. To my shock it wasn’t that much!

Nothing makes me more nervous than thinking about mice living in my house.

I live in a southern climate so it is warm and humid outside and mice are attracted to this area.

However, I pay a lot of money each month with a pest control company to make sure that they are killing all the mice in and around my home. I know this might seem unethical to some people but I can’t risk the thought of having a mouse at my house. It severely damages my mental health when I think about little mice running all around my house. So, when my wife called me at work the other day and told me to sit down because she had some bad news I never thought it would have to do with mice living in our vents. My wife told me that she found out we have mice living in our air conditioning vents and I have never been more freaked out. She told me getting the mice out of the air conditioning vents was a pretty easy fix but we would need to move Out of the house for a few days just to make sure we didn’t ingest any of the chemicals they were using. I have no problem leaving the house for a few days because I wouldn’t be able to sleep in the house at all knowing we had mice living in the air conditioning vent. I can’t believe we’ve had mice living in the air conditioning vents for this long and I didn’t even realize. How am I going to be able to sleep even when I know the air vents are clean?

I think my wife just wants a change of pace so I told him why don’t we just go on vacation

I love the area that I live in. It’s so nice and it’s close to the beach and it’s just a wonderful place to live and raise a family. I have lived in this town my entire life and I can’t imagine ever moving somewhere else. So when my wife told me that he wanted to think about moving somewhere else I was honestly shocked. I couldn’t imagine ever living in a different town and why would we want to. I live in an area where you don’t even need a heater in the winter time because the temperature outside never drops below sixty degrees. We live in a place where people come to vacation and we should not take that for granite by trying to move somewhere else. I really love the area we live in and I want our kids to grow up here. Plus, my family lives here and sodas my wife‘s family so I’m not sure why he’s trying to push us to move Somewhere else. I think my wife just wants a change of pace so I told him why don’t we just go on vacation. That way we can keep our house and keep our current cooling system and we don’t have to worry about anything else. I think this is a much better plan than moving somewhere just because my wife is ready for a change of pace. I think it’s much more practical to do it my way.

There is no question that I’m lucky to have a great house, a great job and a wonderful family to share it all with.

• But I sure need to do a better job of taking care of some of the household stuff.

I have been bad about not doing my HVAC chores around the house. The heat pump can end up going months without a new HVAC air filter. This is behavior that I must correct. Additionally, I have been really terrible about making sure the heating and cooling equipment get the HVAC maintenance attention they need. It’s not that I’m trying to save money on heating and cooling cost by avoiding HVAC service. That’s not it at all. I wish I could blame it on at least a reason, even a dumb one like that. HVAC service and maintenance is essential to the health and efficiency of the heating and cooling equipment. I know this so that’s not an excuse of any kind. No, I just let the HVAC maintenance fall through the cracks really. And it bit me this spring when I fired up the air conditioner. The HVAC cooling came on and there was definitely cooling comfort. But that only lasted a few days before the air conditioner stopped cooling the house. I had the HVAC technician come out to have a look. He was able to fix it but it cost me. And he told me that the cause of my HVAC repair would have been easily caught and mitigated during normal HVAC maintenance. So now, I have signed up for the HVAC service plan the HVAC company offers.

Do you think we have all considered our health anymore than we have in the past year? That seems improbable to me.

I know that I was thinking about my health nearly constantly as the pandemic ripped through the country.

Perhaps those of us who aren’t in the best shape paid a bit more attention to what was going on with the virus. I know that my health forced me inside the air conditioning of my house for much of the year. But I did do something with all that time when I wasn’t working. I decided to get in better condition to help my immune response as well as improve my overall health. This was not the easiest of efforts as I’m not all that inclined toward diet and exercise. But I started out by getting out of the HVAC cooling for a daily walk. About a month later, I added another walk so I was out of the HVAC during the morning and again in the evening. I changed my diet and even bought some exercise equipment. This has resulted in some significant change for the better. But I may have made the most impact by improving the indoor air quality inside my house. I had the HVAC company install a whole home air purification system to the HVAC equipment. It works by meeting the air coming from the HVAC return with powerful UV light. That light simply obliterates any airborne contaminants. The resulting air is noticeably cleaner and easier to breathe. What I wasn’t prepared for was how the air in my house smelled so incredibly good.
