I hated the brown rug my house came with.
For years I tried making it look nicer. I would get it professionally cleaned, stretched and hide it with furniture. It always was an eyesore. Finally I decided enough was enough. I had it ripped out and spent a fortune getting hardwood floors put in. I was already elbow deep in the project. A friend of mine said that adding heated flooring would be a breeze. You Need to rip up the flooring anyway for this heating installation. It just made sense. So I called the local HVAC dealer and got a quote. Yup, it doubled the flooring budget. Now I can tell you it is more than worth it. At the time I wasn’t so sure. First you put down cement board, then the heated mats are evenly placed throughout the floor. Since it is electric heating you don’t have air rising to the ceiling and getting wasted. There are no hot and cold spots. There is no noise in operation either. Another perk of heated flooring is anything that touches it becomes warm as a result. So the furniture all felt heated by being on the floors. I put my new hardwood overtop and you don’t even see the machine. There are no ugly indoor or outdoor units anymore. There are no Hague heating service appointments. The heater is safely tucked away and out of sight. It was a large expense that has been so worth it. My floors look and feel much better now.
