I can’t believe how really wonderful springtime can be. I now see why it’s my wife and daughter’s favorite season. But this is also the first spring that I could actually breathe inside my house. And that’s thanks to air purification. I suffer from some rugged seasonal allergies that just really can take a toll on me. It’s not much fun and so I’ve spent most of my life dreading spring. Consequently, my favorite time of year is the winter. That has nothing to do with skiing or having snow for the holidays. Where we live the weather is so mild in the winter that the heat pump hardly even has to come on that much. The summer heat is the big deal around here. So the winter allows me respite from all the high temperature and all the HVAC cooling that goes with it. But the winter was also always had a bit of a downside to it because I knew that spring would soon be approaching. The pollen gets so bad here that there is nowhere to hide. One would think that being inside a home would give some relief but that is so not the case. That all changed this spring when we had the HVAC company install a whole home air purification system inside the HVAC equipment. It sits inside the air handler and casts a high intensity UV beam over all the air coming from the HVAC return. It literally destroys stuff like pollen before it just hangs in the air of my home. So while I still have to deal with the pollen outside this spring, inside is a totally different story and I couldn’t be happier about it.
