Windows or current HVAC

My hubby and I had a bunch of ceremony money come in and the two of us don’t suppose what to use it for.

  • I am kind of leaning towards increasing the windows in our house.

I hate that the glass is fogged and gross looking. I think the windows allow air to leak in and that affects our HVAC idea and energy bills. The windows look old and take away from the house too. I also cannot even open them to let in a fresh breeze and help our indoor air conditions. My hubby is pushing a current HVAC idea though. The HVAC component is around 20 years old and is a central method. The indoor component takes up so much space in the hallway closet. My hubby wants a ductless mini split in every room of the house with a control unit. The two of us could have zone control and free up that space in the house, but having set temperature zones would be cool. I could have A/C in the kitchen while I cook and my hubby could prefer heating in the kitchen. The more than one of us don’t even share a room because the two of us have vastly different temperature needs. I suppose the two of us would prefer our own component and control unit, and both the windows and current HVAC component work though. The two of us don’t absolutely need to replace either. The two of us just want to. Which one is the priority though? Either update will lower our energy bills. The decor of our house will change quite a bit with the update too. The costs are similar as well.
