Working at the grocery was the best way to acquire a little income and receive some great skills; coming from a small town, there were few locations where teens could work after university… The goal was to receive skills, save some funds and move to the city to live with my aunt.

The clients started complaining about the smell in the store! At first, it was a simple whiff, however later the stench coming from the AC idea was unbearable. All of us knew it was the heating and air conditioning component because the smell ceased when the cooling component was off, our store supervisor was slow to react to this, which led to clients calling headquarters to complain. This prompted immediate action, and I saw a new heating and air conditioning van pull up a single afternoon. Two AC mechanics got out and wanted to speak to our supervisor. They were shown where the aircon idea was set up and began their diagnosis. They had to turn off the heating and air conditioning component before doing more work to repair the excruciating air conditioning system smell. The heating and air conditioning workers noted that the source of the issue was the store air ventilation system! Not a single one had called for aircon repair, which led to mold, dust, and mildew build-up. This was the source of the gross smell the two of us had to endure at the store due to the negligent supervisor; luckily, the heating and air conditioning professional had all the skills and units to wash out the gunk. But, the two of us had to close the grocery store for the afternoon for work.
