Oftentimes, we go through life complaining about small things and not taking the time to appreciate what we do have right in front of us.
We also take for granted that what we have now due to technology, people did not always have.
For example, we often take cars for granted. If you have a car, and it gets you from point A to point B safely, that really is something to be grateful for. Many people lived without cars before us, and even now many people cannot afford them. When I changed my mindset to think about what I really have in front of me, it started opening my eyes more. Something that many people do not stop to think about is the fact that cars have heating and cooling. Could you imagine driving in a car in the freezing winter without heat? Could you picture driving on the most hot and humid day without relief from air conditioning? You probably do not even want to think about this, but we truly are lucky that cars have this technology. Some cars even have heated seats to keep your bottom warm on freezing cold days! I live in a very hot and humid area, so my car gets extremely hot inside. I immediately blast the air conditioning as soon as I get in my car, and I think to myself that I would probably pass out or be miserable without this. I used to live up north, and there is no way I would have been able to use my car without defrosting the front and back windshield with heat.
