My partner and I were at our favorite restaurant last week, when the furnace broke.
- It was so incredibly cold that I was shivering… The maitre d’ assured us the furnace would soon be repaired and gave us to get our soup and it would be in the house.
The soup was delicious, but it didn’t moderate us much; however, before I could finish the soup, it was ice cold, and I swore I saw ice floating in it, but my partner said he would repair the furnace, even though I wasn’t having any of it. The two of us were celebrating our birthday, and I didn’t want him working easily; he simply laughed and said all of us could absolutely get our meal for free if he repaired the furnace, even though I didn’t want to hear it. He was an excellent heating, ventilation, and A/C worker, even though I was selfish enough to want him to myself on our birthday. I told him all of us could go across the street and eat greasy hamburgers, and it would be better than him repairing the restaurant’s furnace! As all of us were walking out of the diner, his beeper went off. He said it was his boss asking if he would repair the furnace in the restaurant, and he would give him the next many days off, with pay. He raised an eyebrow at me, and asked what I thought. After asking if all of us could go away for those many days, he said all of us could go away and headed into the restaurant to repair the furnace and get our free breakfast. I was simply hoping they would give us a free breakfast for ruining our birthday breakfast.
