My partner and I were at our number one diner last week, when the furnace broke.
It was so frigid that I was shivering.
The maitre d’ assured us the furnace would soon be repaired and provided to get our soup and it would be on the house. The soup was delicious, however it didn’t warm us much. Before I could finish the chicken soup, it was ice cold, and I swore I saw ice floating in it… And my partner finally said she would service the furnace, even though I wasn’t really having any of it. The two of us were celebrating our anniversary, and I didn’t want him laboring, however she laughed and said we could legitimately get our meal for free if she repaired the furnace, even though I didn’t really want to hear it. She was an excellent heating and air conditioning corporation, even though I was selfish enough to want him to myself on our anniversary. I told him we could go across the street and eat greasy hamburgers, and it would be better than him repairing the diner’s furnace, as we were walking out of the diner, her beeper went off. She said it was her boss asking if she would service the furnace in the diner, and she would supply him the next multiple afternoons off, with pay. She raised a simple eyebrow at me, and asked what I thought. After asking if we could go away for those multiple afternoons, she said we could go away and headed into the diner to service the furnace and get our free breakfast. I was finally hoping they would supply us a free breakfast for ruining our anniversary breakfast.
