When I bought my first home, I thought it was great that we had a boiler system for heating our place.
I actually remember going to school in the past where they had a hydronic heating system and that heating system felt so cozy and comfortable.
This boiler system was very similar and the radiators cranked out just the right amount of heating. On top of that, they actually add some moisture to the air so that the household doesn’t become too dry without the use of a humidifier. Now of course, it’s good to use a humidifier through the winter, but with this boiler system, it didn’t seem entirely necessary. Well, I was disappointed when the boiler finally gave up the ghost. I thought it would last us forever with regular maintenance and care. Well, it only lasted for 2 winters before it was done and the HVAC expert was telling us we had to replace it if we wanted to be warm the following winter. I wasn’t too happy about it, but I ended up just having the old boiler unit replaced. It wasn’t overly expensive, not nearly as much as I expected to be honest. Also, the new boiler is extremely energy efficient. I was surprised at how low the gas bills became that winter after the new boiler unit was installed. The HVAC expert was even saying that down the road, we could hook up our boiler to radiant heated floors. Now that sounded nice and so we saved up for such an upgrade. After making that upgrade, we went a few years enjoying the perfect heating system. We ended up selling the house for a huge amount of money and invested in a new home that’s even better! We’re planning on having radiant heated floors installed in this home as well.
