My wife kept telling me on different occasions that we needed to look into getting a fireplace.
Well, she didn’t want just any fireplace, she wanted a wood burning one.
I told her a bunch of times that we had to be realistic because it would be entirely strenuous to split wood all the time for the fireplace. She told me that she would take care of everything, even though I knew damn well that I wouldn’t let her do all that work. As a matter of fact, I knew that I would take over the chore entirely and I would probably put a lot of strain on my back. I looked at different fireplaces online and I thought if we were going to go for one, we should go for a gas fireplace. I even took my wife to a place that specializes in fireplaces. She pointed out the wood burning ones she loved of course, but I showed her some of the gas ones. I was surprised when she actually agreed with me that they were very nice and quite realistic. It seemed to make her sad to some degree though because it was not the real thing. I guess there’s just something about seeing the real wood burning in front of you that relaxes you inside and eases your stress. My wife has tried to explain that to me on numerous occasions. I didn’t want to disappoint her, so I decided to make the arrangements for one of the wood burning fireplaces that she loved so much. She was delighted when it was installed and couldn’t wait to use it!
