Working at the grocery task was the best way to gain a little income and gain some good skills; for me coming from a small town, there were few venues where teens could do tasks after school.
The goal was to gain skills, save some funds and transfer to the neighborhood to live with our uncle; then he knew I had a passion for corporation and promised our dad to teach me, but I had to graduate from private school first! Most afternoons, I worked at the bagging section, where I was the whole of last month.
The buyers started complaining about the smell in the store. At first, it was an easy whiff, however later the stench coming from the A/C system was unbearable. Both of us knew it was the heating and A/C device because the smell ceased when the cooling device was off, then our store manager was slow to react to this, which led to buyers calling headquarters to complain. This prompted immediate action, and I saw a nearby heating and A/C van pull up 1 afternoon. Two A/C mechanics got out and wanted to speak to our manager. They were shown where the aircon system was set up and began their diagnosis. They had to turn off the heating and A/C device before doing more tasks to repair the terrible air conditioning smell. The heating and A/C workers noted that the source of the issue was the store air ventilation system, but no 1 had called for aircon service, which led to mold, dust, and mildew build-up. This was the source of the gross smell both of us had to endure at the store due to the negligent manager; luckily, the heating and A/C professional had all the skills and device to scrub out the gunk. But, both of us had to close the grocery store for the afternoon for work.
