I’m a checkout clerk at my local library. Our library is an amazing place. We have a variety of programs for kids and adults, reading and writing contests, and super comfortable furniture to lounge in with a book. Plus, we recently had a new heating and cooling system installed, so the library is comfortable and temperate during every season! Ever since an HVAC contractor installed the new equipment, we’ve been getting more foot traffic and positive feedback from library visitors, which is awesome! The library is an especially safe haven during the winter. I live in a climate that gets long, harsh, and very cold winters, and since everyone is always welcome in the library, passerby from the street or homeless people gather here when they need warming up. The furnace is effective and efficient, despite the doors being constantly opened during the winter. Luckily, our HVAC contractor gave us some great advice for avoiding drafts and furnace malfunctions, and they service the heating equipment a few months before the winter begins to make sure everything is running correctly. Ultimately, we want the library to be a warm place while it’s snowing like crazy. Even if people just enter to get out of the cold, they usually end up browsing, checking out a book, or signing up for a class while they’re in the library. The furnace has been an excellent marketing tool! I never expected that having an outstanding heating system would attract so many new visitors, but a furnace replacement was the advertising boost we didn’t know we needed!
