Having issues with the heating and AC unit is common, but having issues during a party can be a real nightmare. When my son turned ten, we decided to have a party for his birthday. He wanted a superhero themed party and it was the middle of November, so we needed to have the party indoors. In this region, November is a very cold month. We often have snow and ice by the end of the month. I didn’t want to spend several weeks planning an outdoor party and end up having to move it indoors because of bad weather. I decided to have the party indoors and my husband and I moved all of the furniture in the living room so the kids had a huge space for the party. The house that you fill up with kids very quickly. My son invited his entire class and 15 kids responded. Thankfully, only eight children showed up. It felt like a house full of kids when they were all running around. Halfway through the party, one of the children started screaming at the top of his lungs. He was standing in the kitchen by the cake. I was horrified when I heard the screams and I ran to the room quickly. The kid was pointing at the ductwork by the table. Ants were crawling in and out of the ductwork. Someone dropped a piece of cake off the table and ants were crawling everywhere. We had to rush the kids out of the kitchen so I could take care of the strange ductwork issue.
