After dinner, the furnace starting acting strange

My spouse and I went to see a couple of friends last Tuesday night.

  • Both of us planned to have dinner and play cards for a couple of hours; Our friends made a good dinner on the barbecue.

Both of us had chicken, steak, fish, and shrimp. Both of us had baked potatoes with sour cream, butter, chives, and cheese. Dinner was easily exceptional and the two of us drank two bottles of red wine as well. I was feeling a little drunk after the two of us ate our fish and shrimp. After dinner, the two of us planned to go inside to play cards in the dining room. When everyone went into the house, it was easy to tell there was a problem with the furnace. My buddy noticed the issue first and commented on the cool air. Both of us had the back door open during most of dinner, and I thought the cool air was due to the draft. My buddy decided to check on the furnace and he realized that it was not running. It was freezing enough in the home that the furnace should have been on. My friends had to cancel cards for the night, so they could call a heating company to repair the problem with the furnace. The next day they called to give us an substitute. The heat exchanger needed to be replaced. It took hours for the company supplier to complete the repair and my buddy had to pay a premium price for the repair and installation job since it was after hours. At least they got the problem fixed and the two of us can reschedule our night of cards.
